Themed Room – Gentleman's Room

Among the restored works was a painting in a heavy, dark wooden frame depicting a ship under full sail. Another features a larger-than-life portrait of Bismarck. And so the idea for the “Gentleman’s Room” was born: a room in colonial style that has become a firm favourite with our guests, furnished with dark wood and leather furniture. The room’s signature feature is a magnificent large chess table with pieces inviting you to sit down for a game. As you play, let your gaze wander across the beautifully landscaped Hogarten 8. Another highlight is the freestanding bathtub behind the headboard – the perfect place to relax and unwind.
When House 8 was converted into a hotel and the design of the themed rooms was being planned, the proprietor, Mrs Kugler-Oestergaard, discovered a number of old paintings in the attic of House 8 and had them carefully restored.
