The Gutsstube
Our young kitchen team, led by our creative Head Chef Sebastian Andrée, places particular emphasis on regional produce:
“The quality and excellence of the produce are the starting point for our cuisine.”
This is the philosophy of our ambitious Head Chef – and it applies not only to premium produce, but also to essential ingredients such as herbs and vegetables.
The Kastanienhof
Outdoor Area of the Gutsstube Restaurant
Open in fine weather only
The Kastanienhof, one of Heidelberg’s most beautiful garden restaurants, has a unique charm in every season. In spring, birdsong and the first rays of sunshine entice conference and private guests into the idyllic courtyard. Beneath the red-flowering chestnut trees, surrounded by historic sandstone barns, flowering oleanders and fragrant roses, you can enjoy the first warm days of the year.
In summer, guests from Heidelberg, Mannheim and the surrounding area relax over delicious food and fine wines. A glass of Hugo or Crémant provides the perfect finishing touch to an evening in this enchanting setting. In late summer and autumn, the Kastanienhof remains an inviting place to linger. Wrapped in fleece blankets beneath the colourful canopy of leaves, enjoy a cup of coffee or Ronnefeldt tea.
In winter, the Grenzhof is transformed into a romantic, snow-covered winter wonderland. Warm up at the festively decorated pavilion with mulled wine or Feuerzangenbowle prepared according to our traditional house recipe, while freshly baked Gutsel biscuits and Hutzelbrot fruit bread from Mrs Kaiser’s in-house bakery are served.
Please note that dogs are not permitted in our restaurant.
