For generations, sustainability has been an integral part of the Grenzhof family philosophy.

The hotel and restaurant are firmly committed to environmentally responsible practices – from the use of renewable energy to resource-efficient day-to-day operations.

A photovoltaic system was installed as early as 2007 and now covers 30% of the hotel's electricity requirements, with further installations planned.

A biomass heating system provides the buildings with carbon-neutral heat. Sustainability also plays a central role in our everyday operations: regional produce, waste reduction and environmentally friendly building materials are all integral to the way Grenzhof is run.
